Amanda, your son looks amazing in his uniform, how proud of Ben you must all be. Its so good to see a young person doing something worthwhile nowadays. Not enough publicity for the good teenagers, we only hear about the bad. Well done Ben ThumpUp

Aw thanks!

I have to say the picture doesn't do him credit but the other one is blurry and Mark has his eyes shut! (LOL)

The dining in night is once a year where they have a three course meal and the cadets are awarded any prizes and certificates which they have won over the year. Ben only began in August, but he seems to fit in very well- he loves the discipline, the uniform and the whole comradeship.

Love,

Amanda

What a gorgeous lad. You must be so proud of him.

It's great to see that not all teenagers skulk about doing nothing with their lives. He is a credit to you. Bravo

Thank you very much!

He is SO special to us...all of them are.

I am excited to see how far he goes with the RAF...he did want to be a fighter pilot but I am thinking this may be a young lad's dream, you never know though!

Love,

Amanda

Thank you for posting the photograph on here. He is a handsome young man.

I have seen photographs of all of Amanda's children and they are all beautiful. A credit to Amanda and Mark.

Had to smile about being a fighter pilot is every young lads dream.

After watching the film Top Gun...........I wanted to be one!!!!

Just thought I'd share that with you lol x

Dear White horse,

We have five (so far) - Ben 13, Marie 12, Samuel 10, Malachy 8 and Patrick 5.......

I always wanted 10 but it doesn't look as if that will be anymore...

He hasn't seen Top Gun, we're very strict with his film watching much to his disgust! and we don't have a TV which has channels.....

(We're nicely odd!) LOLOL

Love,

Amanda

Hi Amanda

Nicely odd! That's like me. People say I'm 'special' and then they pat my shoulder when they say it.

Well 5 children is a lot but if you're enjoying motherhood then why not. I love having my three all together now and again. They are so different. My daughter and I are so close and my middle son has just come back after 3 months in Australia. Missed him like crazy. My eldest is a handsome 'babe magnet' we can't go anywhere without girls drooling over him. He's settled down though with his girlfriend and baby.

I don't think it's a bad thing to monitor your children's viewing. I work with children who know too much about stuff I wasn't even knowledgeable about when I was that young. Then there's the games they play on their X Boxes and the like. It's very sad to say that some, or nearly all, the children are on Facebook!! How old do you have to be to have an account on there?? It has to be over 13 surely. I worry about them constantly.

Anyway, you seem to be doing a great job. Well done.
Take care
Chris

Dear Chris,

Children lie about their age to get onto FB....there are 9year olds on there!

None of our children have anything like x boxes or those games. All they have is a computer which is mine and they go on it to work, look up things and e/mail (the older two). They play games on it at weekends only. Like I said, we're odd!

Something tells me Ben and the other boys may be 'babe-magnet's when they're older. God help us! LOL Ben has so many admirers, but he is still in that 'girls are boring' stage....not for long though I'm sure!

Love,

Amanda

PS; Why are you nicely odd? tell all! LOL

Nothing odd about that Amanda- just a lovely traditional familyThumpUp It's sad to see so many youngsters 'glued' to their x boxes etc. with little human interaction. and sadly mybrother thinks nothing of putting his little girl in front of the tv to keep her occupied.Stil- mustn't get on my hgh horse.

Loved the pic- as the others said- what a handsome young man!

My good news- half term next week, and a trip to the hairdressers to cheer me up.
oh- and I was given a box of chocs yesterday.

Hi Amanda

I don't know WHY I'm nicely odd, I just am. lol

The reason people say I am is because I have to make boring stories more interesting by tarting them up a bit. Someone might say, I dunno, 'I went to the shop and bought a loaf of bread.' That's ok. Not riveting stuff though is it?

If it was me, on the other hand. (Drama Queen!!) I'd say that while I was there all sorts of stuff happened. It could be anything. I do it all the time. Even at the hospital the other day, I made up stories about all the people sat in the waiting room. I had to whisper them to my chap. He couldn't stop laughing and he says I'm 'SPECIAL' I wasn't being rude about them just giving them more glamourous lives. It made the waiting time less.

As for your children not having x boxes and stuff, that's fine. Do children need that? Mine grew up playing games too. Ludo, chess, scrabble, charades (My Fave) and we used to do silly dancing. I still do that too.

When I was a child we used to play 'cowboys'. I was tied to a tree once by a couple of boys (Now you're wondering if this is true or made up to be less boring!!lol) anyway, that was true. well, anyway, they left me there for what seemed like hours. i wouldn't have minded but I was 21 at the time. (Nah, that bit wasn't true Amanda, i was about 10)

Now I've written that I know what you're thinking. (She's not nicely odd, she's a weirdo!!)

Anyhow keep up the good work with your children, they will thank you for it when they're older. And thanks for putting up with me.

Chris
